Halloweeeeeen - Part Three

Ok so yes I have dragged on the Halloween theme for quite long enough, but humour me.

After our engagement party on Sat night, Carrie and I then headed off to Megan, Lucy and Kelsie's for their Halloween/housewarming party. Being the creative types that we are, Caz and I went all out on our costumes and wore Pumpkin ear headbands.

They're almost as good as the pumpkin on a stick... almost. How we love them

Twas a great night and much fun was had. No Halloween party is complete without a cyclops pumpkin and a man that looks suspiciously like Jesus covered in chocolate.

I know that I had a great night because I woke up covered in bruises and unable to move from my bed. We then consumed two litres of juice each and ordered £25 worth of food to be delivered. I also discovered that my boots were covered in chocolate due to going arse over head in the kitchen the previous night when I decided that yes, I would be able to walk across the chocolate covered floor and keep my balance.

On a spooky note... the next morning I discovered this photo on my camera of two suspicious looking shadows....

Hope everyone has a very happy All Hallows Eve! x

Halloweeeeeen - Part Two

So continuing with our Halloween weekend, Caz and I went to an engagement party on the Sat night in Chelsea, which we had quite a good time at sitting around looking posh and sipping cocktails. We met some nice people, although the place was super trendy and everyone super thin. at one point we were introduced to one of the women there and she had a quick chat to us before announcing the following:

"I really like you girls.... you're curvaceous!"

To which Carrie and I responded like thus:

Not half an hour later as we left Carrie and I had this conversation:

Jenn: Hey lets not eat anything else tonight (meaning drunken bingeing)

Carrie: Ok then.... (pause) unless they have finger food at Megans.

Jenn: Oh my god, well that would just be rude not too!

And so curvaceous we will remain..

Halloweeeeeen - Part One

I love Halloween, and yes I know its not strictly an Australian tradition as everyone keeps telling me, but I still love it and I had a grand old Halloween weekend.

Friday night Kel and I went out to Rollerdisco in Kings Cross for kel's old flatmates birthday. I didn't really know what to expect from Rollerdisco, but thought it was worth a look. It was officially cool!

Now I've never rollerskated before ever (however the rest of London are apparently experts) and I was kinda hoping it might be like iceskating.. Naturally nothing like it. So despite not being able to move without looking like a complete loony it was so much fun. they had three rooms all playing different kinds of music, and couches and places for you to crash. The music was pretty good, although it was enough for me to get round the room let alone dance on the bloody things.

Now neither Kel or I actually fell over I'm proud to report, but we learnt some valuable lessons about rollerskating and felt it important to pass these pearls on to the general public.

1) Alcohol and wearing footwear that moves about with a mind of its own... not a good combination, no matter how good a skater you are!

2) The wearing of rollerskates and the close proximity of "men" means that you can quite accidentally fall into the ones that look cute and gullible.

3) Toilet Trauma - It is not I repeat not easy to maneuver inside a toilet when you're wearing skates as poor Kel found out when she dropped her phone on the floor, tried to pick it up, her skates went out from her and she ended up wedged with her head against the door in a kind of L shape as she describes it. Highly dangerous, I truly thought she had drownded it took her that long to recover.

4) Extension of Toilet Trauma - We soon discovered a much worse fate to befall a young woman on a night out then having loo roll stuck to her shoe when she comes out of the toilets....loo roll stuck to your roller skates... before you know it its all wound up in the wheels and you can't do a thing about it except spend the rest of the evening whizzing round with loo roll trailing behind you. In the event that this happens, you can pretty much cancel out the projected benefits of our second gem of wisdom.

Memo to marketing type peoples.

Stuff thats free... sure it sounds like a crazy concept, but I think its great, and I strongly believe all stuff should be free.

Last night Carrie and I went into town, and hit Dorothy Perkins on Oxford Street because they were having a 'girls night in' in support of breast cancer, so we chugged along and had a look around.

It was great, there were FREE drinks, FREE magazines, FREE(ish) goodie bags, FREE makeovers, FREE manicures and FREE hairstyling. We also got 20% off of anything that we bought. Under these circumstances it seemed outrageously rude and impolite to not purchase anything! So we did buy stuff and it was fun AND it was for a good cause!

And so in conclusion, if you give people free suff... they'll buy stuff!
Its just genius

Meanwhile, I have moved into one of the vacant rooms in Carrie's houseshare! Yay, she now gets to see me at my very worst the lucky lucky girl! (e.g wandering around in my dressing gown checkered pyjamas and ugg boots)

Heres Caz waving to me from her room!

Heres me in my nice clean organised room

Awww and Caz again on her super-large bed.

How exciting are our lives?!

Quick Pic

Hey gromits, can't be arsed with a blog, so thought I'd chuck this piccie on, of me at Oktoberfest with (from clockwise) Luke, Jess, Dan, Aaron, Annie, Brad and Loz.

Now you can't see it very clearly here, but in the flower arrangement in the middle of the table is a pumpkin on a stick.. a real live pumpkin... on a stick, genius is what it is and there will be more pictures of that pumpkin to follow soon!

On a good note, I have a job yaaaaay! Its not a job I particularly like, boooooo! But the money is good and I need to work, yaaaaay!

And the sooner I save up enough cash the sooner I will be coming home my lovelies!
Hurrah!

France

Ok so France... France was great, we started off in Paris did some great sightseeing, and had a brilliant evening at a French dinner followed by a cabaret called Nouvelle Eve, which was a good laugh. Then a small group of us went on to a club near the cabaret which was possibly one of the best nights out I had in the whole of contiki, coz we still didn't know each other very well and it was all such random fun. I ended up dancing on top of the bar at this club.. just another proud moment of mine!

Then we moved into the Beaujolais region and ended up staying at a Chateau there, loads of beautiful scenery so we had quite a relaxing two days there which was nice after Paris. On our second night there they held a pimps and prostitutes party in our honour, which was another highlight because everyone went to such an effort and it was such good value. However the boys as always completely showed us up, but we gave it a good go.

This is Kate, Jess Loz and me all ready to go down to the Cave, which is their nightclub at the Chateau looking uhhh, classy?? Well to be fair we do look classy in comparison to some of the boys...

...such as Aaron (suit) and Case (gimp). These two were by far the winners, simply because no one could figure out quite why Case had decided to pack black duct tape in the first place....

This is me with Shane who was by far the prettiest in the room, you can't see it in this photo but he actually had a breadstick sticking out the bottom of his skirt, it gave quite a few quite a scare. I ended up with a lump in my head after he whacked me with it.

Then next day a little worse for wear we moved on to the French Riviera, where we spent one evening in Monaco drinking cocktails going to the casino and generally trying to look much posher than we are, but lots of fun, and oh my god some of the cars they had there, these people are just unbelievably rich. The next day we had a look around Nice and Cannes which was cool.

This is Kat, Kate, Jess, Patricia and me in front of a beach in Cannes looking windswept.

And to finish my brief overview of France I thought I'd leave you with this photo of ice creams in Nice purely for the random factor. This gelati shop had loads of yummy flavours... but right at the end they had a collection of the more unusual ones, including, Cactus, Avocado, beer flavoured, lavender flavoured and so on. Why? Why would you want basil and tomato flavoured gelati??

Next we went to Italy!

ummm Venice??

Ok so traditionally speaking I should probably be posting and talking about Contiki in some sort of sequential order. However to be fair I didn't know where I was and what day it was for most of the month anyway, I don't see why you lot should be any luckier!

Also (and more to the point) the only photos I have to hand are from my time in Venice.

Venice was our first stop off after Corfu and by this time we are well into the last two weeks of the tour and all far too friendly with each other. We all have stunning tans, but most of the group are now deathly sick and we all have our beer babies. Much to our delight it rained throughout our time in Venice which just goes to show how great the Italian weather can be!

The day we arrived in Venice we went to Verona and saw Juliet's balcony and did all sorts of stuff thats supposed to hurry on your true love (p.s still waiting) then we went on to Venice. For our full day we did lots of Venicey stuff like watched lace making and glass blowing and of course had a gondola ride (in the rain) this was actually quite fun, as by now I was used to being satched. I serenaded the gondolier with 'Just one Cornetto' (If you don't know it, ask me to sing it some time) and serenaded Tam with 'You've lost that loving feeling'

Actually I really like Venice it was quite a kooky little place, but very quaint. Because it was raining, and the city is sinking, they had to put big planks up all through St Marks Square in case it flooded with the rain. There were a few places we walked by where you could see the water rising and starting to flood the streets... very wierd but quite cool. I have touristy photos that i'll put up as well, or I may just get onto this bugbitten majig that Kel uses, we shall see.

However what I do have is photos from our final night in Venice. We had a inpromptu hens and bucks night because one of our couples had their 6th wedding anniversary while we were away, so after we'd got onto our communal alcohol stash and the boys had made us a vodka watermelon we all seperated and had our rowdy nights. Halfway through the night, Brad (our married fella) and half the boys burst through the door with Brad wearing whats left of the
watermelon on his head. Truly hilarious, and I promise photos of this, I'm waiting for them to be sent out to me!
Later on we went on to the Fusina bar, which is at the campsite... great fun this night... unfortunately they tend to take photos and put them on a website.

After a few attiutude adjustors we all got a bit rowdy and got into the table dancing. Our boys took their tops off, which by this stage of the tour was happening more and more regularly.

Not to be outdone, we took our tops off. (and just quietly... the belt is from Nice... I now love it more than I love my black pixie boots, but still not quite as much as I love my cowboy boots)

Great fun, Mum was so proud of me when I text her the website to go and look at! So there is a snapshot of Venice. Pretty soon I'll get my arse into gear and start sticking some more pics up here for you lot, hopefully in more of a sensible order and not all half naked ones I promise!
